Where To Buy Fried, Smoked Turkeys in Austin

We’ve been updating this article each year since 2014 – Some information below may still be out of date. We would be so grateful if you let us know if there are changes or additions. Send us an email or use the comments section below. Thanks!

We’re buying our turkey fully-cooked this year too! The TX Association of Vietnam Veterans is nearest to us in the South Congress region (at the end of Alpine Road East, past the Berkshire SoCo Lofts), so that’s where we’re making our order. It’s also the cheapest item AND it’s for charity!

UPDATE: TAVV reached out to us today to say that they have sold out already for 2017! Give them another try in October 2018! More options for pre-cooked turkeys are listed below.

Cajun Flavored Fried Turkey – The Texas Association of Vietnam Veterans (TAVV) is frying turkeys for their annual fundraiser.

If you have not experienced the unique delicious flavor of a fried turkey, then you are in for a treat, and these Veterans know how to do it best!

TAVV is accepting, on a first-come first-served basis, orders for fried turkeys available for a scheduled pick up at VFW Post #856 (406 E Alpine Street, South Austin) on Wednesday, November 23. Each 12-14 pound fried turkey is $45.00.  Reheating instructions are included with each fried turkey.

Place your order for as many turkeys as you need for your Thanksgiving feast to ensure availability.  Contact Elaine Rey at or call 512-567-6859.

FYI:  TAVV is a State-chartered, tax-deductible, non-profit veterans organization that returns donations to the veterans community and charities in Central Texas. Every dollar contributed helps our Veterans.  In addition, TAVV donates fried turkeys at Thanksgiving to Garrett’s KidStrong and Loving Libby, who in turn provide meals to the families of the Dell Hospital Children’s Cancer Ward. TAVV also donates fried Thanksgiving turkeys to SafePlace of Austin, a facility for abused and displaced families.
